Ingrown nails

In case of changes in the arch and/or bodyweight, the pressure on the toenails can alter the relationship between the nail edges and the nail bed. In many cases the nail edge cuts into the surrounding tissue and causes inflammation. Painful, oozy ingrowth forms with excess skin.

Treatment focuses on the removal of excess skin and small part of the rim of the nail bed using CO2 laser or surgery under local anesthesia.
