During surgery an incision will be made into the fold under the chin which heals leaving a thin linear scar only. The excess fat will be removed by flexing the saggy superficial neck muscle.  A flexible bandage should be worn for about 8-10 days after the operation.

The operation is performed under local anesthesia, patient experiences absolutely no pain besides that associated with administering the anesthetic injection.

After surgery skin will show discoloration, which will disappear within 2-3 weeks.
