Varicose Veins Treatments

 GUNA METHOD

Spider veins which appear on the lower limbs can be effectively treated by an injection method developed by the GUNA company based in Milan, which combines the experiences of modern medicine and the classic homeopathic treatments.
It’s an injection treatment during which we use a diluted dosage of biogenic factors naturally found in our body. It improves the elasticity of our skin and shrinks the thin veins on the treated areas.

During treatment we use a fine needle and administer a series of homeopathic injections spreading them in equal intervals into the area next to the veins then into the veins. This injection aims to decrease the size of the veins. The patient experiences very minimal pain. Treatment will be repeated every 1-2 weeks, 8-10 times in total. Results can already be noticed after 4-5 treatments. Having reached the desired results we recommend a so called maintenance treatment every 2-3 months.

This treatment can be used with all patients!

Sclerotherapy

During a sclerotherapy session the doctor injects the sclerosing agent (aethoxysclerol) into the diluted veins on the surface of skin using a very fine needle. As a consequence the veins walls collapse and stick together, blood circulation stops in them.  After treatment patient should wear an elastic bandage or elastic stockings over the treated area for 3 days both during the day and at night time, then for an additional week for during the day only. Sclerotherapy sessions can be carried out in the doctor’s office.

LASER THERAPY

Capillary vericose veins can be closed up using CO2 laser. We use local anesthetics and a cold compress on the area to be treated. Patients can still experience, a pointed, warm-stinging feeling during treatment. We recommend treatment every 4 weeks if necessary.

IPL THERAPY

Using IPL (Intensive Puls Light) Therapy the superficial spider veins (and facial rosacea) can be treated effectively. Treatment is based on selectiv photothermolysis, a process where a high energy pulse of light – generated by a lamp – is absorbed by the wall of the veins and the blood, generating gentle reaction in the targeted area. The diameter of veins decreases, there will be less blood in them, and the area starts to fade away until the superficial spider veins close completely. IPL therapy is repeated every 4 weeks.

SURGERY

Larger veins which are blue-purple in color, sometimes curvy, 2-10mm in diameter might appear under the skin on the lower extremities. These large veins can be removed surgically under local anesthesia using the „Varady” method. We puncture the skin alongside the veins and through these 2-3 mm holes remove the veins using a fine hook. The holes are so small that sutures are not necessary. For 3 days after surgery patient should refrain from physical activity. An elastic bandage must be worn day and night, then for another 2 weeks elastic stockings or elastic bandage is recommended.
